Congratulations on being accepted into the Department of Corrections Field Training Program. You are now responsible for training the new recruits that come into our department, and being their guide towards a successful career within DOC.
With this, comes extra responsibility that you must understand completely before handling cadets. You, as their trainer, are solely responsible for their actions. This means you must remain vigilant at all times, and keep your eye out for any issues. Whatever your cadet does, whether this be good or bad, is on you as their trainer.
As a member of the DOC Field Training Division, you are held to a higher standard than other officers. Ensure you remain professional, knowledgeable and respectful at all times to set a precedent to not just new recruits, but to your fellow officers.
Before taking out your first recruit, please ensure you read this entire document in full. You will be tested on sections within this handbook.
