# 1.8 - Solo Phase

Once the cadet completes Phase 2, and FTP Supervisors believe the cadet is ready for their Solo Exam, a FTP Supervisor may administer the Solo Exam. This exam consists of multiple questions the cadet should know the answers to, and allows FTP Staff to see that the cadet is ready to go out by themselves without becoming a severe liability or danger to themselves/the department. The cadet must be on Solo Phase for at least 7 days before becoming eligible for their final exam.

Although FTP Staff are not physically assigned to the cadet during this phase, they shall continue to monitor the cadet’s performance through observation, reports and feedback from supervisors. If at any time an FTP staff member believes the cadet requires additional training, FTP Command shall be notified.

FTP Command may determine that the cadet be returned to a previous phase for remedial training, depending on the nature and severity of the observed deficiencies.

The Solo Exam answers go purely based on what the Supervisor wants to ask. You should mainly focus on quizzing them on things they should know at this stage, and situations that require them to think outside of the box. <br />
